Tom Ford for Vogue - Paris

I found myself involved in a heated debate today as I was just discussing the Parisian holiday Vogue edition - http://www.vogue.fr/decembre-2010-01 . The thing is there is a photo session featuring these small girls in heavy make up and wearing fancy, sometimes evening kind of clothes. I, as a big Tom Ford fan, didn't really see anything wrong considering his usual approach. I would have never expected him to be superficial. Regular. On top of that, to me Vogue is not about printing art photos but has turned into an institution long time ago and I expect them to provoke me, apart from stuffing the magazine with more and more ads.

My point being that I really don't think this is just a fun promoting photo shoot. I may be very wrong but I think he achieves his goal provoking strong reactions - both positive and negative, although I don't really see how there would be strongly positive but who knows. What I see is bitterness. Serious faces, serious eyes. Misunderstanding. False world with false values. Illusion. Gain and loss. Loss and gain. Reality versus circus. But not pornography. I think he is just walking on the edge. As he very often does.

So, the debate seems to get too heated for my taste and I just decided to ask what you think if you have seen the photos. Tom Ford was invited as a guest editor, partially photographer, writer, etc. There is another very interesting photo session too - elder people passionately kissing and showing of their love, apparently having sex. No one thinks is disgusting, everyone says it's beautiful, Love on the grand scale, blah-blah, but behind their sunglasses they roll their eyes... And talk about moral at the same time. Yep, Ford got it - false world with false values.

Aaaand... a Happy New Year, of course!

I'm glad she came. I love her already. I welcome her gentle hands, her delicate touch full of promise and healing the wounds of the past. I so much wished for her to be exactly like this and here she is - my 2011, my personal, dreams fulfilling, all new, all bright 2011.

This time I managed to meet her at midnight, wearing my new clothes, sitting on big money, mouth full of chocolate and heavy glass in hand. :))) Because this time I wanted to make sure she was going to be abundant and I believe she will.

Next on the list - the first twelve days of the New Year symbolize the twelve months ahead. It's worth to spend them as happily as possible. Take out your nicest outfits, cover the tables with your best skirts, add a creative touch to all you do, bring flowers and branches to your home, invite nature, lit the candles, watch your favorite movies, listen to the music that warms up your heart, give and receive love. And you will have a wonderful, brilliant new year. Blessings to all! May your biggest dreams come true!
